Covid Update:
We’ve stayed the course and we’re now emerging from those long days of lockdown. More than that, there’s considerable good news on the easing of restrictions. We, therefore, expect to offer a comprehensive program of classes in 2021 under a new “Covid Aware” regime.
We are planning to have the list of 2021 courses available on this website in early January. U3A Moonee Valley members will be advised by email when this occurs.
Enrolments are scheduled to open online on Wednesday 20 January at 1.00 pm.
U3A Moonee Valley Incorporated is a voluntary, not-for-profit community organisation which provides educational programs to promote healthy, active ageing and opportunities for lifelong learning. Membership is open to anyone over 50 years who is retired or semi-retired.
History
Moonee Valley Region U3A, now known as U3A Moonee Valley, was established in 1997 for people of the third age (active retirement), to learn new skills, share knowledge and experiences and socialise in a relaxed, informal learning environment.
Courses
Courses cater to a wide range of interests. Classes are held in various locations throughout Moonee Valley, which is located in the inner north west of the Melbourne metropolitan area. U3A Moonee Valley gratefully acknowledges Moonee Valley City Council for the provision of community halls, rooms, neighbourhood houses and centres at low cost.
Rules of Association
During 2013-14, the Committee of Management reviewed and amended the organisation’s Statement of Purpose and Rules of Association (Constitution) in order to comply with the new Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012.
The Rules prescribe such matters regarding membership applications, subscriptions, resignation and expulsion of members, disputes and mediation, the committee of management, meetings, elections and management of finances.
The new Rules were approved by Consumer Affairs Victoria, effective from 6 August 2014.
